I'm assuming this is audiometry following mandatory health surveillance for workers in noise protection zones.
It is not confidential medical information, although your advice to the employee thereafter may be.
This comes under the HSAW Act and the related regulations.
The employer has a duty to confirm the effectiveness of hearing protection and other appropriate surveillance.
The employer is required to record and hold the results of the mandated health surveillance.
The employee has a duty to comply with measures to protect their health, including their hearing and the hearing test results.
Thus, the employee doesn't have a choice about the release of the HSE audiometry category.
