Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to invite your participation in several excellent symposia that the Division of Chemical Physics has organized for the March 2017 meeting of the American Physical Society. This conference will be held in New Orleans, March 13- 17, 2017. The topics of these symposia are:
“Advances in Molecular Dynamics Simulation: From Atomistic to Coarse-grained Models,” organized by Gregory A. Voth, Joan-Emma Shea, and Angel Garcia
“Spectroscopy and Dynamics of Multi-chromophore Systems,” organized by Greg Scholes and Tim Berkelbach
“Chemical Physics at the Edges: Probing Materials at the Limits of Space, Time, and Resolution,” organized by Ara Apkarian and Eric Potma
“Frontiers at Interfaces: Probing the Mechanisms of Surface Reactions and Interfacial Carrier Dynamics,” organized by Robert Baker and Xiaoyang Zhu
“Chemical Physics of Hydrogen-bonded Networks: Structure and Dynamics,” organized by: Martina Havenith and Teresa Head-Gordon
A truly outstanding group of leaders in these fields have been invited to speak in these sessions. Details of the symposia and the list of speakers may be found at https://www.aps.org/units/dcp/meetings/symposia17.cfm.
I am pleased to invite you to contribute oral presentations to any of these symposia as well as to a number of general sessions in all areas of chemical physics. Please note that room will be found on the schedule for oral presentations for your submissions, a major selling point for you and your students coming to the meeting. The sorting categories for contributed talks may be found at https://www.aps.org/meetings/march/scientific/categories.cfm#5 . The deadline for submitting an abstract is November 11, 2016.
As in previous years, the Division of Chemical Physics will issue travel awards for young investigators as well as child care awards for people presenting papers as the March meeting. The application deadline for these awards is November 1, 2016. Further details may be found at https://www.aps.org/units/dcp/awards/index.cfm .
I look forward to seeing you in New Orleans.
Best wishes,
Timothy S. Zwier
