Dear colleagues,
Re: Arts and Humanities Foundation Year: Ideas for interactive IL workshop activities
We have a new foundation year course in Arts and Humanities and are trying to devise information literacy/library workshop activities for these students. They will be coming to us with from non-traditional backgrounds and are likely to need a lot of encouragement to come into the library and to make use of our online resources. It is vitally important that we can pitch things to them in such a way that they will engage with the material and with the library. I am hoping to be able to design a context-specific workshop that can be embedded into their curriculum.
Could any arts librarians out there suggest some *inclusive* and engaging workshop activities relating to Arts and Humanities that we might use, or relate any good practice that has worked for you in a similar setting? We are looking for something fun and facilitated, rather than "show and tell" demos -- fun ideas that will engage the students' interest and enthusiasm.
Any thoughts on this gratefully received...
Kind regards,
Lawrence
