I was a bit confused on a part:
EV1: intercept.
EV2: controls/group1 coded as -1/+1 respectively. Use 0 for group 2.
EV3: controls/group2 coded as -1/+1 respectively. Use 0 for group 1.
EV4: sex coded as, e.g., +1/-1 for males/females respectively.
EV5: EV2*EV4 for the interaction
EV6: EV3*EV4 for the interaction
EV7: Age
EV8: Education
EV9: Disease Severity

1) In the contrast we use 0 for intercept, however I thought this was supposed to be a non-zero value based on an earlier post. Is this correct?
2) In the contrasts we use 2 1 0 to specify the three groups, however in the earlier EV table you specified coding HC/group1 as -1 1 and 0 for group 2 for EV2 and then HC/group2 as -1 1 and 0 for group 1. Is this correct since 0 represents group2 in EV2 and 0 represents group1 in EV3. Shouldn't the numbers be consistent for all groups (ie HC always 0, group 1 always 1 and group 2 always 2)?
