Dear All,
I have just signed on a large group of new members of the Child Welfare Inequalities Network who expressed an interest at the recent ISPCAN congress in Calgary. If you are one of those and do not want to be, please just let me know. If you do, then welcome.
The Network exists - at the moment - as an information exchange between colleagues, mainly researchers and educators but not in any way exclusive, who are interested in inequities in child welfare systems nationally and internationally. Please feel free to post messages, draw attention to relevant reports and articles, ask questions of the membership etc. using the above email address. There are around 125 members now in approaching 20 countries.
It may be that the Network can develop beyond being just an information exchange and we are open to suggestions and offers. For example, we might meet or arrange symposia at key conferences. But we have no funding and I have no desire at the moment to create a system of committees and bureaucracy. Let's keep it simple, for now at least!
Best wishes,
Paul
