A study day run by Sir John Soane's Museum and University College London

In the morning, participants will view the exhibition '"The Cloud-Capped Towers": Shakespeare in Soane's Architectural Imagination', at Sir John Soane's Museum.
The colloquium in the afternoon will feature the following papers:
Andrew Rudd (Exeter University) -- 'Shakespeare, Rule-Breaking and Artistic Genius: The Case of Sir John Soane'
Emma Smith (Oxford University) -- Bute, Eton and Soane: Three Eighteenth-Century First Folios’
Marcus Risdell (Garrick Club) 'Soane's Shakespeare Recess and the Davenant Shakespeare Bust'
Robin Simon (UCL) -- '"An icicle upon the bust of tragedy": John Philip Kemble at the Soane'
