Information Systems Developer (386-16)
CMNH are looking to recruit a new Information Systems Developer to
become a part of our internationally recognised team and help manage
the expanding portfolio of work for Centre for Maternal and Newborn
Health (CMNH).
LSTM is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for
research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links
with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to
the health needs of communities, LSTM aims to promote improved health,
particularly for people of the less developed / resource poorest
countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
Within LSTM CMNH is a leading global centre of research excellence,
which aims to improve the availability and quality of healthcare for
mothers and babies and contribute to a global reduction in maternal
and newborn mortality and morbidity. Due to the recognised success and
impact of our work, we are now looking to recruit an Information
Systems Developer to become a part of our internationally recognised
team and help manage the expanding portfolio of work for CMNH.
Reporting to the Data Manager, you will assume responsibility for
supporting data management solutions, including electronic data
capturing system development and its use for research studies. Your
key responsibilities will include the improvement of current systems
by analysing and identifying areas for modification whilst developing
integration tools for data received from partner institutions. You
will also prepare data for more advanced analysis, as well as support
the development of standard operating procedures and database
documentation.
Ideal candidates will be educated to Degree level in a computer
science or related scientific/numerate subject and have experience of
writing documentation that is both technically comprehensive and
user-friendly. With your knowledge of programming, you must also be
able to demonstrate a track record of creating, testing and debugging
data driven solutions and possess a sound working knowledge of RDBMS
such as MS SQL or Oracle. It is also essential that you have excellent
problem solving and time management skills along with a proven ability
to work effectively within a multi-cultural environment.
Although this post is based in Liverpool, overseas travel may be required.
