Due to the recognised success and impact of our work, we are now
looking to recruit a Data Manager to become a part of our
internationally recognised team and help manage the expanding
portfolio of work for the Centre for Maternal and Newborn Health
(CMNH).
LSTM is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for
research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links
with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to
the health needs of communities, LSTM aims to promote improved health,
particularly for people of the less developed / resource poorest
countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
Within LSTM CMNH is a leading global centre of research excellence,
which aims to improve the availability and quality of healthcare for
mothers and babies and contribute to a global reduction in maternal
and newborn mortality and morbidity. Due to the recognised success and
impact of our work, we are now looking to recruit a Data Manager to
become a part of our internationally recognised team and help manage
the expanding portfolio of work for CMNH.
This post will contribute to the achievement of CMNH’s strategy by
managing the development and maintenance of M&E data management
systems for research studies, including those with electronic data
capturing, as well as a data warehouse for all data collected by the
Centre. You will develop standard operating procedures and quality
assurance data management processes, as well as train and support
staff on matters relating to data management. You will also be
responsible for managing LSTM staff, liaising with external research
institutes as well as travelling to countries where research studies
are being undertaken.
Ideal candidates will be educated to Degree level in a computer
science or related scientific/numerate subject and have experience of
relational databases and Microsoft Office applications, including MS
Access SQL and/or Oracle. It is essential that you have experience of
transferring data between different software packages coupled with
evidence that you have previously set up a knowledge network for
research data management. Effective interpersonal, communication and
problem solving skills are a must, as is your ability to work
co-operatively and productively within a team, as well as on your own
initiative.
Although this post is based in Liverpool, overseas travel may be required.
