An exciting opportunity has arisen for a postdoctoral researcher in Statistics in University College Dublin. The post is full time for 12 months, and will be based in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, University College Dublin.
Statistical approaches to clustering high-dimensional epigenetic data will be developed, in the context of understanding the influence of prenatal exposures. Model based approaches to clustering offspring based on their epigenetic data will be employed, with computational efficiency a key aspect of the research. This research programme will be conducted in collaboration with the Integrative Epidemiology Unit in the University of Bristol.
There is also an industry link within the research programme, with the postholder required to work off-site in our industry collaborator’s office, located in Citywest, Dublin one day per week.
You will have a PhD in Statistics or related discipline(s) (or a soon to be awarded PhD) and a track record of research submitted to or published in high impact journals. Experience with model based approaches to clustering, and an ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment would be an advantage.
