You said this so well, Roger. Thank you. It is one of the luckiest privileges of my life that I knew Margaret and counted myself among the large host of those graced by her generosity. Tonight, while watching the Perseid showers, I am going to imagine that the heavens are rejoicing at the receiving of a saint.

I know no colleague who more completely joined scholarship, perceptiveness, intelligence, industry, efficiency and sheer kindness (caritas) than MPH. She wrote the first review I ever had of something I'd written, and she toasted my edition 4 years ago. She was a loving human being and a tremendous scholar, and one of the rare people I will genuinely miss. How could one not love her? I am very happy at her release after a long trial, and feel slightly presumptuous praying for her soul. I hope she will pray for mine. Roger
