The CILIP in Scotland Autumn Gathering returns in 2016 with a new venue in the centre of Glasgow. Programme so far:
- Marc Lambert, CEO of Scottish Book Trust;
- University of Aberdeen Librarian and Director Diane Bruxvoort discusses 'The library as a 'Third Place' and rethinking the library';
- Scottish PEN offers a workshop on protecting privacy and the Investigatory Powers Bill;
- A whole strand dedicated to school libraries including an advocacy discussion and much more;
- Dr Lauren Smith will present her research findings on Scottish school libraries and citizenship;
- An introduction to open data;
- A session on libraries and coding from Coder in Residence at Glasgow Life, Martin Goodfellow;
- A special Celtic connection session presenting a project from Northern Ireland;
- Colm Linnane from City of Edinburgh Libraries discussing #artcore and library partnerships;
- An information literacy workshop;
- A presentation and workshop session on 'Bookbug' from Tracy Cooper, Early Years Programme Development Manager, Scottish Book Trust;
- Case studies and discussion on the CILIP Leadership Project;
- Honorary Membership presentations
Following the event all delegates are invited to our Literature and Libraries reception hosted by CILIPS President, Theresa Breslin, where authors, publishers and librarians can mingle informally over a glass of wine. The reception will also feature the launch of the Directory of Rare Books and Special Collections of UK and Ireland.
