Hi Camila,
Probably that would require an adaptation to the pcgive class.
An alternative might be to set the
Maximum number of iterations
<http://www.doornik.com/pcgive/index.html?content=http://www.doornik.com/pcgive/pcgive.html#Options.3>
Assuming the estimation will usually converge within 1000 iterations.
greetings,
Jaap

Dear Jaap,
I tried to use the invertsym to update a counter, as you said, but it didn't work….I don't know what else can I do.
Could you look at my code? Where can I put the counter? The warnings show when I run the Autometrics.
Thank you very much. I'm blocked at this problem, and I can't continue on my research…
Many thanks,
Camila

<[log in to unmask]>:
Probably not. It is possible to switch off all warnings but that does not stop the program.
The alternative is to write a program that uses the return value of invertsym to update a counter, and exit if it reaches 1000.

Onderwerp: How to stop warnings???
Dear Ox Users,
I'm having problems running Autometrics. Sometimes I get a warning non stop and Autometrics doesn't find a result. I left the program running all night and the warning didn't stop. The warning is:
"Warning: invertsym: decomposition failed
pcgivecore.ox (918): Estimate"
I want the program to stop (break) when there is more than 1000 warnings.
There is a code for this?
If anyone knows how to do this, please help.
Sincerely,
Camila
