Triad Resourcing has an opportunity to work with one of our clients in London. The role is for a GIS Specialist to join an existing team to assist with workloads on an important project.
The initial contract is to start asap until around Christmas initially.
The role would suit a GIS Graduate with maybe 1-2 years’ commercial experience but we will consider candidates from all backgrounds.
The rate will be £150-£170per day.
Job objectives:
•Work with the GIS Portfolio leads, the business and managing agents to ensure GIS data, analysis and outputs are delivered to appropriate timescales and quality;
•Adhere to GIS processes, procedures and quality assurance to ensure consistency of outputs within the team;
•Ensure all GIS data about current assets and future opportunities is maintained to a high standard, in line with GIS team quality procedures;
•Maintain an expert knowledge of GIS to ensure that outputs created utilise the full range of technology;
•Plan workload effectively to meet deadlines and work with the portfolio leads to understand prioritisation of requests;
•Develop cross-portfolio knowledge so that there is less reliance on individuals within the team and more opportunity to share workload;
•Promote self-service GIS solutions wherever possible; and
•Utilise GIS tools to support business needs and external planning functions.
Key Tasks:
•Ensure GIS data, analysis and outputs are delivered to appropriate timescales and quality to meet business needs;
•Deliver GIS outputs and analysis for the range of business portfolios and present the outputs in the most appropriate format;
•Adhere to quality control procedures for GIS analysis outputs;
•Carry out proximity checks for the business to ensure integrity of space;
•Plan and manage own workload on a daily basis, proactively engaging with the GIS Portfolio Leads and Senior GIS Analyst to ensure that priorities are understood and deadlines are met to support the needs of all Portfolios, as well as corporate functions that utilise GIS;
•Manage data to ensure information about current assets and future opportunities is maintained to a high standard, in line with GIS Team quality procedures;
•Work with Managing Agents to ensure smooth, two way, transfer of GIS data information and knowledge;
•Interpret a range of sources such as historic and contemporary maps and deeds, plans, coordinates, charts or aerial photography, to ensure our records are maintained and impact to assets is better understood;
•Digitise and capture spatial and attribute data using appropriate GIS tools;
•Ensure that the most appropriate GIS tools and techniques are deployed to deliver valuable and relevant outputs;
•Be proficient in the utilisation of technology to better disseminate GIS solutions and spatial information more effectively;
•Seek opportunities to deliver GIS outputs through automation and self-service tools;
•Carry out any additional GIS tasks, such as user acceptance testing of GIS tool applications, as required.
