BACKGROUNDEvents are based in society and involve people. Theycomprise interaction between people and places and they have costs andbenefits. Thus, sport and cultural events can positively benefit localeconomies in the form of socio-cultural and economic impacts. Subsequently, organisersof events can maximise such impacts by adopting a strategic approach to eventmanagement. However, strategic planning has been lacking. Scholars andpractitioners are invited to submit papers that are providing best practice inaction in the area of Sport and/or Cultural Event Management that have thepotential to inspire insightful discussions. This conference will aid aspiring practitioners,event management academics and students as it will provide a set of detailed,international contributions. THEMESThe landscape of event is intended to cover a broadspectrum of research. The submission should explore these changing dimensionsin the industry based on the following themes.
