The Department of Geography and Planning at the University of Toronto
(St. George Campus) invites applications for a tenure-stream
appointment in the area of Economic Planning. The appointment will be
at the rank of Assistant Professor starting July 1, 2017.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Planning or a closely related field by
the date of appointment, or shortly thereafter with expertise in
economic planning. Membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners
(or eligibility for membership) will be considered an asset. The
successful candidate must also have a record of excellence in research
and teaching. Excellence in research is evidenced primarily by
publications in leading journals in the field, presentations at
significant conferences, and strong endorsements by referees of high
international standing. Candidates must also provide evidence of
excellence in teaching as demonstrated by a strong teaching dossier,
including teaching evaluations, and strong endorsements from referees.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The appointment is at the University of Toronto, which is a
tri-campus, research-intensive institution. The St George Campus is
located in the heart of Toronto and offers the opportunity to conduct
research, teach and live in one of the most diverse cities in the
