I assume that the message is correct for Fortan95, which is all the
compiler claims to support.

Probably not more difficult than porting VMS to x86. Even in the last
days of DEC VMS was neglected, then Compaq and HP really didn't know
what to do with it. Finally it is in the hands of people (many former
DEC people, some coming back out of retirement) who appreciate VMS and
are technically competent. VMS on x86 is planned for 2018.

Documentation is one of the strengths of VMS, not just for the
compilers. Just the online help is exemplary.
