Overview
This one-day conference will showcase leading research into young people coping with their own or family members’ chronic or life limiting illnesses. Expert clinical researchers from the fields of oncology, palliative medicine, clinical psychology and psychiatry will report on their work to support young people developing in adverse circumstances to improve outcomes.
The conference will provide a stimulating and engaging experience. We have chosen our five eminent speakers for both the high quality of their research and its basis in clinical settings. This will ensure that delegates will be informed of both scientific advances and their clinical application in responding to the diverse needs of children, young people and their families affected by chronic or life limiting illnesses.
The event will also provide a networking opportunity and will be of interest to a wide range of individuals and professionals across the health, mental health, allied health, social care, education, youth work and the voluntary and non-governmental agency sectors.
By attending this conference, delegates will be able to:
• Learn from experts about the latest effective clinical innovations in work with children and young people affected by chronic and life limiting illness;
• Network with professionals working in child and adolescent mental health with shared interests;
• Bring key scientific and clinical insights to their colleagues on returning to work.
