Dear Laura,
Thank you so much for the assurance. I wish something concrete could
be done to try and bring to the attention of Universities that
disability rights are human rights. I have been on this mailing list
for long enough to be aware of the many many campaigns and
petitions whichhave been initiated from this platform following such
violation of disabled people 's rights
I am also proud to say that I had the privilege of doing my Masters in
Disability Studies at University of Leeds where I personally never
encountered such inhuman treatment. For me, there is need to put
pressure on those institutions whose ethos appears to be that they are
too special for disabled people, sespecially thosefrom Africa, to
enroll at. I am dying to see fellow activists and our allies from the
North, being seized with this matter with the same amount of vigour
they usually demonstrate when confronted with similar cases.
