Hello all,
As part of a collaborative project with patient groups, the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute have made a series of 3 short films about areas of stem cell research that may soon lead to medical benefits:
Blood Cancers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7KwagtkMXs
Myelin Repair: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZ4qdCJd1nA
Brain Repair: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhsjerKsr-o (not yet launched)
The films are narrated by patients and show their own stories rather than the traditional expert-led approach. Our aim is to use them to start conversations with new audiences, partly through social media.
We are launching one film a week and encouraging people to comment or ask questions using the hashtags: '#StemCells' '#MyView'. So far we are doing reasonably well in terms of reach and views and all comments on the films have been very positive. I just wondered if there is some expertise out there on how to really get a conversation going with the hashtag??
If you happen to be working in a related area, please feel free to follow us on Twitter or Facebook: @SCICambridge to share the films.
Many thanks,
Philippa
