Collection Development and Academic Liaison Librarian
Grade 7 Salary Range: £28,982 - £37,768
Cambridge University Library is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and well-educated individual to help develop the modern collections of one of the world's major research libraries.
The successful candidate will lead the acquisition of electronic and modern print publications in the English language in order to support research and teaching within the University, with particular emphasis on newly emerging fields of scholarship.
He/she will contribute to the development and implementation of coherent collection development policies across the University, working collaboratively with main University Library, affiliated, faculty and departmental librarians, and will demonstrate the necessary interpersonal and negotiating skills effectively to liaise with academic staff and researchers, and with librarians of the University, for all of whom he/she will be a key point of contact.
Applicants should hold a good honours degree and a postgraduate or professional qualification in library and information science or equivalent. Experience of work in an academic or research library and an excellent understanding of publishing trends and acquisition/ licensing models are essential.
