The UCD School of Earth Sciences invites applications for a permanent Associate Professor position to commence in January 2017. Candidates must possess a PhD in Geology or Earth Sciences and demonstrate an outstanding track record of published scientific research for their career stage. We invite applications from across the breadth of Earth Sciences, but applicants whose expertise complements existing strengths in the School (http://www.ucd.ie/earthsciences/) are particularly encouraged.

The School is the largest Earth Sciences school in Ireland. We offer a 4 year BSc degree programme in Geology and a 1 year taught MSc in Petroleum Geoscience, the only one of its kind in Ireland. The School offers PhD and MSc programmes by research and has an internationally recognised reputation with specialities in fault analysis, geochronology, isotope geochemistry, geophysics, marine geoscience, petrology, petroleum geology, palaeobiology and palaeoclimatology. The School hosts the Science Foundation Ireland funded Irish Centre for Research in Applied Geosciences (iCRAG) and the National Centre for Isotope Geochemistry (NCIG).
Salary Range: €65000 to €88504
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
