****Apologies for Cross-Posting****
2016 marks the 160th anniversary of the end of the Crimean War. We would like to invite you to join us for an afternoon talks exploring soldiers' experiences, as well as how we remember the conflict often referred to as the 'Forgotten War' at Barking and Dagenham Archives and Local Studies Centre, Valence House, Becontree Avenue, Dagenham, RM8 3HT on Friday 29 July. Please see below for a full timetable.
This event is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund as part of the Sebastopol to Dagenham Project. Find out more about our project, which is inspired by the letters written by Captain Thomas Basil Fanshawe, 33rd (Duke of Wellington's) Regiment whilst serving in Sebastopol to his family back in Dagenham: http://valencehousecollections.co.uk/blog/sebastopol-to-dagenham-project/
