Rowdy
Lest we forget over 15 million people in the UK voted to remain in the EU, and in my case I campaigned for the Labour party and Stronger in Europe on the street and house to house, I am sure they all feel like me bitterly disappointed. London like Scotland overwhelmingly voted to remain, and like Scotland factional interest have raised the possibility of a special deal to stay in the EU. I applaud Nicola Sturgeon's move to block Brexit for UK as a whole, and hope it succeeds. But before you rush for the exit, you might contemplate the sadness felt in England and Wales. I was born the day that the Nazi's were blitzing Manchester, bombs landing close to St Mary's Hospital on Oxford Road, for me the EU has made little economic sense but as a political achievement it is massive!
We fight on!

I hope so too. The polls for Scottish Independence are looking quite good and I suspect that a number of member states would be keen to let Scotland stay on as a member. The problem might be Spain who are fearful of a Catalonian secession.

At the moment we're just absorbing the blow! As you will know, the EFTC is
self-funded. Our only finances are those we raise through membership fees.
However, ECETT, our partner agency which does such excellent work in
training exchanges, uses EU funds to finance their exchanges and presumably
this will affect UK members. It may also affect other European members
wishing to undertake training placements in UK therapeutic communities -
that is not clear yet. In addition, some of our development work recently
has been funded by the Pompidou Group (Council of Europe) and that may no
longer be possible.
That said, EFTC is registered as an organisation in Brussels so it might be
that we can avoid most of the negative impacts. It does leave me in an odd
position as President of course! But if Scotland somehow manages to retain
its EU membership (fingers crossed) I will still be sited in a member
state!!!!

Are there any foreseeable implications for EFTC and therapeutic
communities more generally of the British EU Referendum result?
