The Parliamentary Archives’ aim is to provide innovative and expert information management, preservation, access and outreach services enabling anyone in the world to use Parliament’s records, both now and in the future. As part of a team of nine and reporting to one of two Senior Corporate Records Managers, the role is involved in a wide range of professional activities, providing an excellent opportunity to develop skills and undertake new challenges whilst participating in the delivery of a dynamic records management programme.
At present, much of the team’s work is focused on preparations to replace Parliament’s current Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS) – Meridio - with a solution based on Microsoft SharePoint plus third-party software to provide records management functionality. Other strategic priorities include supporting the Houses’ response to and implementation of recommendations from a recent information management assessment by The National Archives, and supporting the transition of a project to identify information assets into business-as-usual activities.
