IN-PART was founded in 2014 in Sheffield and London and specialises in the promotion of new, early
stage, university technology to senior-level decision makers in R&D focused industry. The company’s
mission is to create a national / international network of university-industry links that expedite the translation
of university technology into commercial products to the benefit of society in general.
IN-PART interacts directly with university commercialisation teams and executives within R&D intensive
companies. Our rapidly growing client list presently includes 60+ academic institutions (including 11 Russell
Group universities), and over 500 national / international companies with science & engineering interests.
Internships:
Currently we have internships available in both our Sheffield and London office. These are paid internships,
with the potential for a full-time position thereafter.
We’re a high growth start-up and the role will rely upon excellent communication for: idea generation
internally; the accurate promotion of technology externally; and when interacting with clients. Likewise, the
maintenance of client relationships through the provision of services
proactive, organised and thorough approach to working.
Innovation Officer - Intern: The role
Working alongside our Communications Manager and Community Engagement officer, the applicant will be
required to have knowledge of dynamic research areas within Science and Engineering disciplines and / or
High Tech multidisciplinary sectors. The individual should be driven by an enjoyment for understanding new
research and its transition into commercial application. The role involves liaising with both large
multinational corporations, as well as SMEs across the UK, to identify potential collaborative routes to
market for HEI-based research and technology.
• BSc in a Life Science or Engineering discipline
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to communicate professionally to all levels of management
• The ability to keep accurate records of work
• Knowledge of social media strategies
• The ability to work to deadlines
• Enjoy taking ownership of a role
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Postgraduate degree: scientific or engineering discipline / science-communication related course
• Knowledge of, or experience within technology transfer
