From a theoretical perspective it is not necessary that the distortion
maps be acquired with the same matrix/FOV as the EPI BOLD. However, from
a practical perspective, certain tools/pipelines may be written with the
assumption that they were. The safest thing to do, in terms of what
should be most generalizable, is to acquire them with the same matrix/FOV.

Hi,
I notice that the parameters (matrix, FOV...) of field maps (to
correct geometric distortion in EPI images) are identical to those in EPI
BOLD data in some research, but not in other studies. Is it a must that
both parameters should be identical?
Thanks. Mike
