Call for Objects
Pitt Rivers Museum, University of Oxford
Dear colleagues,
As part of the ongoing programme of refreshing our permanent displays, we have opportunities for artefacts from modern and contemporary archaeology (dating from c. AD 1800-present day) to be incorporated into the permanent displays of the Pitt Rivers Museum.
We are particularly interested in objects made from modern industrial materials, and which are from well documented and published archaeological contexts from anywhere in the world. Objects would have to be permanently donated to the Museum. We are hoping to draw together evocative, thought-provoking material from a wide range of contexts, and so would be unable to accept more than a small number of objects in any single donation (rather than accessioning whole excavated assemblages).
If this opportunity for your material to reach a new audience is of potential interest, please email [log in to unmask] with your initial thoughts.
