A research associate position is available immediately in the Department of Molecular and Structural Biochemistry at North Carolina State University for Biochemistry and/or protein crystallography. Research in our laboratory focuses on structural elucidation of protein kinases in cellular signal transduction. We convene an interdisciplinary approach to tackle the underlying questions that includes X-ray crystallography, biochemistry, biophysics, cell biology and in vivo analyses.
The selected candidate needs to conduct independent research in the above said fields. The candidate will develop his/her own research proposals, design experimental approaches to test the hypotheses, collect data and analyze results, and write peer-reviewed research articles to publish the results. The candidate is also expected to present his/her research in scientific conferences, and work independently or assist the PI to write research grants to obtain internal or extramural funding to support his/her research projects.
Candidates who have a PhD in biochemistry, structural biology or related disciplines with at least three years postdoctoral research experience are preferred. Interested candidates are invited to apply the position through:
