Andy Mink joins delivery team Winter School Archives and Education (Sunday 29Th January) Monday January 30th - Friday 3rd February 2017 in Ypres.
Andy Mink, Vice President of Education for the National Humanities Center<www.nationalhumanitiescenter.org> , has joined the delivery team of the Winter School. He shall, among other, give a training in the Open Education Resources Commons platform (OER) (www.oercommons.org<http://www.oercommons.org>).
The registration for the Winter School is going well. We already can welcome participants from Belgium, The Netherlands, Poland, Denmark, France and the UK. If you want to participate don't hesitate, we'll accept only 20 participants!
To assist in the professional development of archivist and education officers FARO in collaboration with The National Archives (UK) organized in 2014 the Summer School in Archives & Education and in 2015 the Winter School Archives and Education, a digital perspective. Under the motto 'never change a winning team' FARO and The National Archives (UK) has organized the Winter School in Archives & Education from Monday January 30th - Friday February 3rd 2017 in Ypres (Belgium).
For new participants (who didn't participate in the previous winter - or summer school) we are organising a special pre-winter school Master class on Sunday January 29Th 2017. This will cover the fundamentals about creating education programmes and resources e.g. importance of enquiry approach and techniques in using documents effectively.
The focus during the first couple of days of this five day Winter School is an investigation into Open Education Resources (OER) and technologies, during which participants will begin to build digital elements for use in the development of their main resources at the end of the winter school. We also shall include some leadership elements during the training.
During the Winter School we will work around the First World War, peace and post-war reconstruction as central themes.
