Hi Ruth,
Depending on the volume of transactions you expect to process, it may be worth considering the 'Reading room management' add-on option for your archive system.
This enables users to select items they are interested in on the web catalogue, then submit a request for those to be retrieved for them. The software manages the workflow for the stages of retrieval and issue of the material as a short-term loan.
Let me know if you'd like further information.
Best regards
Ian

Subject: Location/Future Movements versus Loans
I have been looking at the Location/Future Movements screen and the Loans screen and I am wondering which of these would be best for carrying out internal loans i.e. taking items out of an archive for staff and the public to look at, photographic orders etc (not external loans). Is anyone else using either of these screens to carry out similar processes?
