Dear Yasmin,
at first sight it seems to me that an older sheet of paper from a ms or an early printed book was used for the modern miniature of the bird, in order to make it look older. You can recognize this at the second line of the page containing the depiciton which is partly painted over. You can easily find fakes like this in India.
Warm regards,
Helga

Dear colleagues
A student found this single sheet of a lithograph page with the drawing
on the verso. I gathered it is Sufi text on reading the Qur'an but this
is very vague and not necessarily correct.
Can anyone of you shed any light on it? I would be most grateful.
All best wishes from Cambridge
Yasmin
