Start date: as soon as possible, latest October 2016
Summary: This fully funded PhD studentship will focus on what happens to mobility patterns and energy demand in the home once a low carbon or alternatively fuelled vehicle is acquired. It is an exciting opportunity to work with lead experts in low carbon transport and the study of mobility- and household-related energy demand. There is flexibility in shaping the research focus within the broad remit of the linked-programme of the UK Energy Reseach Centre (www.ukerc.ac.uk ) within a dynamic research environment in ITS and the White Rose Doctoral Training Centre.
Entry requirements: Applicants must hold at least a UK Upper Second Class Honours degree or equivalent, and a Masters degree with at least merit. We are open to high quality proposals from people with a strong background in any area of the social sciences. Methodologies could include micro or macro-level statistical methods as well as in depth qualitative work. The strongest candidates will have a proven aptitude for combining quantitative and qualitative methodological and analytical approaches.
