Advice and guidance please.
We already have a records monitoring regime in place for our record stores, where we monitor both the environment and the physical condition of the material. For physical condition monitoring, we essentially check 'control sets' of records on a regular 6 monthly basis for signs of degradation. We also select a representative sample of other record sets in our record stores at random. My question is, how large should that sample be? Is there percentage figure I should be aiming at? At the moment our 'representative' sample isn't based on anything.
Any direction appreciated.
