Dear all,
Registration to the first STEAM Summer School in Science Communication are still open for another 10 days. STEAM innovatively marries science and art in science communication practice. The 10-day programme offers a unique experience in science communication training hosted in Rhine-Waal University (a leading institution with the first undergraduate in science communication in mainland Europe). It covers the main aspects of science communication including journalism, social media, policy, management, arts, and science theatre. The workshops will be a fully immersive experience on science communication theory and practice, and no previous communication experience is required.
Attendees will be able to experiment with a number of ways to creatively engage various public groups with research. They will have a chance to improve writing, speaking, and other transferable skills for career development. This could be the beginning of an international cooperation where educational materials and already established practices are shared, or it could be a start into a science communication career.
When: 13 – 22 July, 2016
Where: Rhine-Waal University (Dutch/German border)
Who: university and graduate students, established researchers, educators and science communication practitioners.
Deadline: Fri June 10 12:00 GMT lunchtime.
