Professor Robin Nelson’s presentation is in two parts; the first reflecting on 'Research audit culture: past, present and future' (REF) and the second re-visiting the question of whether and when creative arts and media practices might constitute research (PaR).
About the speaker:
Professor Nelson was a member of the Research Assessment Exercise sub-panel 36 in 2007 and of REF sub-panel 35 in 2014. His research interests span the arts and media and his work on PaR has been influential nationally and internationally. His publications include: Practice as Research in the Arts (Palgrave Macmillan, 2013); Stephen Poliakoff on Stage and Screen (Methuen Drama, 2011) and (co-edited) Mapping Intermediality in Performance (Amsterdam UP, 2010).
