Hi MCG’ers
We (Culture24) have just published our Let’s Get Real 4 report which you can download on our website here
http://www.weareculture24.org.uk/projects/action-research/phase-4-whats-the-story/
The project that the report documents was called What’s the Story? We worked with 29 diverse arts and heritage organisations in the UK and North America including The Royal Academy, The Getty, The Royal Collection, Chichester Festival Theatre, Virtual Museum of Canada, Bodleian Libraries, a-n Artists Information Company, National Museums Liverpool, Portland Art Museum and US Holocaust Heritage Museum
Building on previous LGR projects, and using the same collaborative peer orientated learning model, we explored how arts and heritage organisations could develop coherent online content strategies to engage audiences, whilst working in a more joined up way organisationally and ensuring that as individuals we feel empowered and confident to make this happen. This interlinkage between individual feelings/confidence, organisational capacity and audience value when thinking about digital impact was particularly insightful.
Please have a read. I’d love to hear your reflections and feedback
I also wanted to let you know about our forthcoming Let’s Get Real Phase 5 project called ‘What’s the value of online cultural retail?’ which we are currently looking for interested organisations to sign up to. We want to understand how arts and heritage organisations can become better at recognising, articulating and generating value from online cultural retail and product development more widely. This is more than just financial value. What we sell and package influences how our audiences engage with us and culture more generally. The way we approach new product development, challenges the way we think about our overall cultural offer, our brand and our purpose.
Further details can be found here
http://www.weareculture24.org.uk/projects/action-research/phase-5/
The sign up deadline is fast approaching (31st May) and I would be really grateful if you could share this within your organisations or across your networks. We aren’t just looking for people in arts and heritage organisations with specific retail focus it can be anyone who is interesting in product development.
Finally if you’d like to discuss this any further I will be at the Museums and Heritage show this week (at the ask the expert stand) so please swing by and say hi if you are there!
Any questions at all please let me know
Cheers
Se
