Dear Alcina,
The MIMO project aggregates instrument records from collections across Europe, and includes sound and video examples:

A project based in Poland is providing records and sound from folk instruments and pianos.

MINIM-UK - A project now underway, led by the Royal College of Music, in partnership with the Royal Academy of Music, Horniman Museum, and Edinburgh University, aims to develop a unified resource on musical instruments in UK collections, and to catalogue instruments with little current documentation.
The RCM also has a presence on Google Cultural Institute featuring some interactive examples: https://www.google.com/culturalinstitute/collection/royal-college-of-music
Do get in touch directly if you would like to discuss further.
All the best
Richard

Subject: Music/ sound museums
Dear All,
I am a museum professional and a PhD candidate I am looking for interesting online museums focusing music and/or sound to use as case studies for my thesis. I really find it is very difficult to find things on the web - besides the official pages of the museums. If one googles 'music museums' the only thing that appears are the official ones pages. Besides, these normally do not exhibit music and sound but are rather informative pages of the museums themselves.
So, please, if you are aware of an interesting music or sound web museum/ project, please let me know.
Thank you very much,
Best,
*alcina cortez*
