You may find the database of popular music museums and archives myself and Associate Professor Sarah Baker, Griffith University are developing to be of interest and use. It is by no means complete and we are continuely up-dating this and we are moving towards making this open access, crowdsourced and utilising data visualisation tools to make it more usable and ‘attractive’ to users.
If you would like a copy of the spreadsheet please contact me off list.

Dear All,
I am a museum professional and a PhD candidate
I am looking for interesting online museums focusing music and/or sound to
use as case studies for my thesis. I really find it is very difficult to
find things on the web - besides the official pages of the museums. If one
googles 'music museums' the only thing that appears are the official ones
pages. Besides, these normally do not exhibit music and sound but are
rather informative pages of the museums themselves.
So, please, if you are aware of an interesting music or sound web museum/
project, please let me know.
Thank you very much,
Best,
