~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please be advised that places are still available to book on the forthcoming **FREE** Bibliometrics & Research Evaluation workshops co-ordinated by Thomson Reuters and organized at various dates and locations in June. These workshops are proving to be popular and anyone from the UK academic community wishing to attend is advised to book a place at their earliest convenience. Please note that we are currently only able to accept bookings on the Liverpool John Moores workshop from staff at LJMU only(all available external places have been booked).
Bibliometric analysis is a fast growing method to evaluate research performance at all organisational levels of an academic institution (i.e. paper, author, institution, journal, field, collaborations, etc). Research performance methods are frequently used by all stakeholders within institutions to analyse research performance, identify research trends, determine research output and impact in specific research fields, evaluate collaborations and support informed journal collection development decision making.
Thomson Reuters invites you to an introductory workshop on bibliometrics and their applications. This event is aimed at those who have no or little knowledge of bibliometrics, or who want to know more about how bibliometrics can be applied in order to evaluate research output.
The workshops are open to the following staff within the UK academic community: research analysts, librarians and anyone who has developed an interest in research evaluation.
Topics covered will include:
* History and development of bibliometrics
* Data Quality
* Bibliometric indicators
* Bibliometrics in action using practical exercises
The workshops will include a combination of presentation, discussion and practical hands-on sessions using InCites and Journal and Highly Cited Data (Journal Citation Reports and Essential Science Indicators on the Incites platform) to give the participants an initial appreciation of what bibliometrics and research evaluation tools can do and how others are using them to promote research impact.
Workshop dates and venues:
* 13 June 2016 Monday, Liverpool John Moores University, 10.30am - 4.30pm **only LJMU staff places left**
