The Department of Modern Languages at the University of Reading is advertising a PhD studentship for a three-year, full-time funded PhD Studentship in Modern Languages, to start in September 2016. We welcome applications with proposals for PhD research projects in any aspect of research in the following areas: French and Francophone studies from the middle ages to the present, including children’s literature and philosophy; German Studies including German Linguistics, translation, GDR film and literature; Italian literature from the middle ages to the present including film and history of the Italian language; Spanish and Latin-American Studies including contemporary Spanish and Cuban literatures. We also welcome applications with comparative literature projects with a translation studies focus or and a publishing history approach in all language areas.
Funding amount: UK/EU student fees and a maintenance stipend of £7,000 per annum (fixed for three years)
Funding deadline: 1st June 2016.
Funding start date: 1st September 2016
