Dear FSL users,
As far as I am aware of it is not possible to keep the total numbers of volumes in a feat design.fsf file undefined and run it using the non-gui command feat. However, when opening the file in the gui version of feat (using Feat) it actually seems to automatically retrieve the total number of volumes of the input file when information about total volumes is missing and it use that to run the analyses. Is it possible to update feat in a newer version so that the non-gui version also automatically retrieves the total number of volumes of the input file, e.g. when you have set the total numbers to the value "undefined" or something similar, for example like this:
Total volumes
set fmri(npts) undefined
This feature would be really helpful when different subjects/runs need different number of volumes (because the runs were of different lengths and all volumes cannot be cut to the same size) and you still want to easily script the generation of design.fsf files by only replacing the paths to the files. I know how to create a script to retrieve the total number of volumes and store that in the individual fsf files, but the feature described above would make life much more easily, especially for those with limited programming experience.
Thanks a lot in advance for your consideration.
Best,
Henk van Steenbergen
