Our study is looking at the brain contrast between viewing child pictures vs. adult pictures (C-A) in people who's taken drug or placebo. On individual level, I have made the contrast C-A. So during group analysis, I pulled the cope files of C-A from all subjects who had the placebo treatment in order to study the placebo main effect. The full model setup screen shot can be found in the link below (I uploaded it in imgur since it is too big for the message). I did a one sample t-test.

The result showed a lot of activation outside of the brain, in a surrounding rim, as shown in the link below.

We have checked the registration of each participant and it looks alright. Could anyone tell me what other causes could lead to this? Is the activation inside the brain then reliable?
