*** Apologies for Cross-Posting ***
Dear Colleagues,
The Oral History Society is pleased to announce that it is to stage a free public event at this year’s annual conference.
The event will be chaired by Dr Aura Lounasmaa of the Centre for Narrative Research at the University of East London. It will showcase the centre’s life stories course in the Calais “Jungle” refugee camp and will include contributions from those who have taken part. The course combines photography, art, textual materials and writing and course participants and leaders hope to turn these contributions into a book.
The event and a drinks reception, both of which are free and open to all, including those not attending the conference, take place on Friday 8 July at 5.30 to 7.30 at the William Morris lecture theatre, Whitelands College, Roehampton University, Roehampton Lane, London SW15 5PU. There is no need to register or book if you wish to attend. For a map of the campus please go to http://www.roehampton.ac.uk/uploadedFiles/Pages_Assets/PDFs_and_Word_Docs/Campus/Campus-Map.pdf.
