We are very happy to announce the exhibition and publication of „Velo. Erkundungen zu Zürcher Fahrradkultur“ (Bike. Explorations on Zurich’s Cycling Culture). They form the results of the anthropological research project on cycling culture in Zurich supervised by Prof. Bernahrd Tschofen and Yonca Krahn. As part of the Masters course at the University of Zurich the project shows ethnographic approach on cycling cultures in Zürich: A diverse and ambivalent scene. We present „Places and Scenes“, „Styles and Tactics“ and „Politics and Differences“ on the bicycle: migration projects related to bike rentals, mental constructions of cities from bike messengers, the situation of an old cycling track, DIY repairing, women migrants who learn cycling or children courses and the role of safety, to name some of the contet.
