Please see below: it would be great if some of these things had some of our experiences as asexual researchers. I don't know if anyone else has the same experiences as me, but I am tired of attending conferences and being asked by Sexuality & Gender researchers about the masturbatory habits of my participants.
Cheers Joe

Hi all,
I've just received the below request from Lucy Neville at Middlesex ([log in to unmask]) to complete a survey on the experiences of academics who do research on sex and sexualities. I'd anticipate we all have some kind of story to tell.
Jude
Hello again lovely fellow sexademics,
It's me again, with more survey requests. This time, with one for you!

As an addendum to my women and m/m porn project, I'm looking at how academics who carry out sex and sexuality focused research feel it has affected their careers and positions within the academy. It will look at any particularly positive or negative experiences academics have had associated with researching in this area.
There has been some great work in this area looking at the concept of sex research as ‘dirty’ work (McCormack, 2014) and a number of researchers have made reference to the lack of academic prestige in this area in their work (e.g. Tribbals, 2015; Bergner, 2013; Leitenberg & Henning, 1995). I am interested in exploring this concept further, and looking at the links between sex research and other types of dirty work, emotional labour, and sex work.
So, it would be fabulous if you would be kind enough to complete the survey, and even more fabulous if you could share it with anyone else you think it is relevant to / link to it on Twitter etc.
I am, as ever, in deep gratitude.
L
