Launch of MRC Biostatistics Fellowship-track Programme
Cambridge
Fixed-term - 2 years
The MRC Biostatistics Unit, one of Europe's leading biostatistics research institutions, is pleased to announce the launch of the new MRC Biostatistics Fellowship-track Programme. Under this programme, successful applicants will be employed by the Unit to undertake work which contributes to the Unit's established research portfolio, while using a proportion of their time to work on their future career development via the preparation of personal fellowship applications. The proportion of time spent on Unit-led work versus developing and progressing personal fellowships will be approximately 60:40.
We are looking for the best applicants, regardless of background or career stage. Thus, applications from students close to the completion of their PhD, those returning from a career break or those with non-standard career histories are welcome.
The Unit has a number of research themes and would welcome applications from candidates with an interest in working in these areas. The Unit's current research is categorised within 4 broad themes: (i) design and analysis of randomised trials, (ii) evidence synthesis methods to inform health, (iii) methods for the analysis of complex longitudinal data and for stratified medicine, and (iv) modelling and inference in statistical genomics. To find out more about these themes and possible projects, please visit http://www.mrc-bsu.cam.ac.uk/
Successful candidates will be appointed to a two-year fixed term position at either Band 4 (£27,355 - £35,405) or Band 3 (£37,024 - £43,520), depending on their level of experience. This salary is supported by a flexible pay and reward policy, 30 days annual leave entitlement, and an optional MRC final salary Pension Scheme.
