A post-doctoral is opened in the group of Dr. Ivan Huc, at the European Institute of Chemistry and Biology (IECB), Bordeaux, France. The project deals with the crystallogenesis and crystallographic structural analysis of foldamer-protein complexes, foldamer-peptide conjugates, and foldamer tertiary and quaternary structures. It will develop in a broader context in collaboration with chemists, biophysicists and biologists. See the group website for details of the team's research background: http://www.iecb.u-bordeaux.fr/teams/HUC/
IECB offers an international environment with state of the art facilities for research at the chemistry/biology interface, including robots for crystallization and crystal monitoring, high level in house diffractometers (Rigaku FRX rotating anode), and access to synchrotrons. The position is for one year renewable twice. Salary is calculated according to research experience. Candidates should hold a PhD degree before the start of the Post-Doc. They should have an strong track record in, by decreasing order of importance:
- crystallization of proteins or large peptides
- protein and peptide purification
- crystallography
- peptide synthesis or protein production
An excellent command of English is indispensable. No prior knowledge of French is required.
Candidates should e-mail their cover letter and CV, and they should request at least two recommendation letters to be sent to:
