If one applies the y-transform to MNI space from T1 segmentation to coregistered EPI data, are the resulting warped EPI images modulated or unmodulated? If the former, what would be the proper way to obtain unmodulated EPI data in MNI space? I ask because we have partial brain coverage data for which the standard nonlinear warping to the EPI template fails miserably. If I use the y-transforms from the coregistered T1 data, we get good warping results for the partial EPI brain coverage data but I’m uncertain if the resulting maps are modulated or unmodulated. If there’s an even better way of accomplishing this type of “piggyback normalization” for partial EPI data, I’m all ears.
Thanks for any input/guidance.
Warm regards to all,
