Who is this course for?
Anyone who delivers lectures, tutorials, seminars and other type of university teaching. If you want to improve or refresh your teaching practice this course is for you.

What's the course like?
The course is highly practical in nature, packed with teaching ideas and opportunities for you to try new methods. You will also receive feedback from an experienced trainer and from other people doing the course. All methods in the session are underpinned by sound pedagogical theory.
About the trainer:
This course will be delivered for the Royal Society of Biology by SciDev.Net. SciDev.Net has 15 years of experience of delivering training to both researchers and journalists in science communication theory, journalism, and teaching skills.

Juan Casasbuenas, training coordinator at SciDev.Net, will be delivering the session. Juan coordinates SciDev.Net's strategic approach to capacity building for science communication and science journalism. Before joining the organisation, Juan worked for several years as a science teacher with an emphasis in supporting teachers through their training, but also developing a passion for communicating science; which led him to completing a master's degree in Science Communication at Imperial College. Before joining SciDev.Net he worked at an educational charity; training and supporting researchers to deliver courses based on their research to pupils in schools.

Further information:
This is a full day course, lunch and refreshments will be included. This event has been approved by the Royal Society of Biology for purposes of CPD. Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.
