I am happy to invite PhD students as well as practicioners interested in
metaheuristics to a doctoral course on the
"Design and Application of Modern Heuristics"
hold at the University of Mainz from
October 10-13, 2016.
The course is part of the doctoral prgram of the German Academic
Association for Business Research (VHB)
(http://vhbonline.org/en/events/the-doctoral-program/) and can be used
at many European universities with 6 ECTS credit points.
Besides learning how to apply metaheuristics, the interactive 4-day
course deals with the following questions:
1. How to select among different metaheuristics?
2. How to design efficient metaheuristics?
3. How to consider problem-specific knowledge for the design of
metaheuristics?
Details can be found at
http://vhbonline.org/veranstaltungen/doktorandenprogramm/kursuebersicht/mh16/
Looking forward seeing and working with you in October in Mainz. Be
aware that Mainz is in 15 minute distance from Frankfurt airport, so
coming by plane to Mainz is pretty easy.
Best regards,
Franz Rothlauf
